Get Answers to Common Questions
Do you see children?
As a family dental practice, we see patients of all ages. Dr. Scherrer and our friendly staff enjoy teaching children positive hygiene habits from a young age, and we can recommend preventive treatments like sealants and fluoride that will prevent cavities and keep young teeth healthy and strong. Children usually begin seeing the dentist by age three or four, but if you notice any problems earlier, please don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment.
Are you open evenings and weekends?
Yes! We understand our patients have busy schedules, and we try to be as accommodating as possible. We’re open until 7:00 pm on weekdays, and we’re open two Saturday’s per month. Call our dental office in Glen Rock today to schedule your appointment!
How do I know if I have gum disease?
Gum disease, which affects 80% of adults, can be a stealthy intruder. Patients often don’t notice the subtle warning signs until it’s too late. To avoid gum disease, attend frequent exams and hygiene appointments, which allow us to monitor your oral health. If you notice any of the following symptoms, visit our office for immediate care:
Chronic bad breath or metallic taste in mouth
- Red, swollen, or irritated gums
- Gums that bleed while brushing or flossing
- Sensitive teeth
- Loose teeth or changes in how teeth fit together
- Pockets between teeth
- Mouth sores
Gum disease has been linked to heart disease, diabetes, pregnancy complications, and more overall health problems, so don’t delay treatment!
Can you help with headaches?
In many cases, headaches are caused by a misaligned bite, which places strain on the facial muscles and can result in TMJ disorder. Dr. Scherrer has training in TMJ therapy and can often alleviate your pain and restore your bite with a custom oral appliance or nightguard. Visit our office for a consultation to learn if TMJ dysfunction is causing your headaches, and if we can help.
Do you accept referrals?
Yes, and thank you for your confidence. Patient referrals are one of the highest compliments we can receive. We promise to extend the same friendly, caring service to your friends and family members as we do to you every time you visit!
